California's Great America Winterfest 2017 is now in session! And let me tell you, It was incredible. If you haven't gone to Winterfest, I EXTREMELY Recommend for you to check it out! This was the first Winterfest in the Cedar Fair Chain, being introduced in the 2016 season, and returning in the 2017 season with 3 other parks!
There were a few new additions to Winterfest this season including Patriot and the Upper Lot of Planet Snoopy. And I'm not going to lie, I love Planet Snoopy during Winterfest. Normally I wouldn't go up there but it was fantastic!
This year there were many shows and activities to experience! Shows like, "Cool Yule Christmas", "Holly Jolly Trolley", "Jingle Jazz" and more, were absolutely fantastic. They involved Singing, Dancing, and Singing. The Singing was quite a treat! All the performers looked as if they did this for a lifetime(In which they do), They were perfectly in sync, and I could easily sing along with them!

The activities are really fun, as you can make cookies with Mrs. Claus, Meet characters from all parts of winter stories, Talk to Ruby the Reindeer, Meet St. Nick himself, and Ice Skate on Snowflake Lake!
But wait, there's more! The seasonal food introduced new food items you can only get during the Winterfest season! At Maggie Brown's Festive Dinner, you now had the option for, "Railblazer Chili". At Snoopy's Snack, they now offer Mac n Cheese in a Bread Cone(Though to be honest, the bread cone tasted like cardboard and was impossible to break).
But most importantly, the atmosphere! I did not feel like I was at an amusement park. I felt like I was with family, going through different themed areas. I felt like I was immersed in the world of winter holidays. They had characters roaming around in their respective areas. And the singers felt like it was their best performance every single time! There were millions upon millions of fantastic lights! In fact, Orleans Place had a Light Show! It played songs we all know and love such as: "Run, Run, Rudolph", "Carol of the Bells", Trans-Siberian Christmas songs, and more!

Winterfest was quite the experience and I hope I can continue to go to Winterfest. Once again, I highly recommend checking this fantastic event out.
Signing off for now, Jacob Harris, Co-Owner of Coastal Thrills.
